Electronic Consumer Protection Act

I read an article today about a bill in Canada that they are trying to pass called the Electronic Consumer Protection Act. The bill would give consumers more protection from spam, spyware, phishing and botnets. It would also allow the government to apply tougher penalties for those that do not play by the new rules. Some people are saying that this bill would be worthless because it won't be enforced. Also, it does not protect Canada from other countries attacking the consumer. I still think this is a step in the right direction. Every country that wants to protect their citizens should inact a bill like this. If countries would clean up there own backyard instead of concerning themselves with what there neighbors are doing than maybe we could make some progress. One of the things I like about this bill is that it will allow people to opt-in to recieving information from companies instead of having to opt-out. I wish more things could be like this. I would actually pay more for something to avoid advertisements. What do you think?

Intro

My purpose for this blog in not necessarily to give step-by-step instructions for the removal of all spyware but more to share my findings about spyware. Whatever tickles my fancy at that moment I suppose. I have had plenty of experience over the years as a Systems Administrator for multiple companies. I am also the type of person that can't let a computer problem go without finding a fix for it. There are times that some issues can't be fixed or they are some fluke that can't be explained but I do what I can even if it frustrating. So, I hope that I can be of some guidance to others and help in the battle against this unnessacery part of being a computer user.
